Update, membership meeting feb 25
Dear UPAMM Member,
This is an important update with information about
UPAMM Membership Meeting: Our next membership meeting will be Thursday, February 25 from 6:30-8:00pm. Please make every effort to attend. Members will be voting on a platform of goals to achieve in negotiations for a full contract. We will send reminders with a zoom link closer to the date.
Contract Negotiations: At our last bargaining session, we responded to management’s rejection of our “mini-contract” proposal by notifying them that we would need some time to prepare proposals for a full contract. We also made a proposal for an immediate raise for all PAs. Since that session, we have not met with the management bargaining team while the team drafts contract language, but in the meantime members of the union leadership have met with several members of the University of Michigan Board of Regents—and we are happy to report that they have pledged to advocate on our behalf. The Board of Regents, elected by statewide ballot, is the highest level of authority at UM/MM. We will keep you updated on all developments.
UPAMM Magents: Get your UPAMM magnets now!
If you are in the main hospital, CVC, Mott, Cancer Center, Taubman, or anywhere on the hill you can pick up your magnets at Med Inn c438 (4th floor med inn building). There is a bin outside my office with a clipboard for you to record your name and how many magnets you have taken. Access to this office area is 24/7. We are also arranging delivery to the various smaller clinics around the state!
I will also have some with me at all times and if I am free can deliver to you, just page me or txt for availability.
PA Days: UPAMM stands for the value of the work that every single PA does every day—that’s why we are planning PA DAYS for every unit in the system. Please respond to this email and we’ll help you pick a day, get organized, and set you up with UPAMM lanyards! If you’re in a smaller unit with just one or two PAs, we’ll figure out how to bring you together with some other units.

Dear UPAMM Member,
Last week, PAs in the Emergency Department organized a PA DAY to celebrate and take pride in the work that PAs do in the unit. There were PA cookies, UPAMM lanyards, and lots of support from residents, physicians, and other co-workers:
We all support the ED PAs in the work they do on the front line of Michigan Medicine! We also support the work that every single PA does every day—and that’s why we think every unit should be inspired by the ED and host its own PA DAY.
Thank you, ED PAs!
Membership Meeting: Thursday, April 8 at 7:00pm
